For the last 300 years of Russian culture has come a long way and has become an important component of world culture. Throughout Russia built a huge number of monuments to the great poets and writers, painters and sculptors, musicians, composers and singers. In this presentation we want to tell you about the monuments, established in honor of Alexander Pushkin in our country — Russia.

"I am a monument erected without hands...". All of us know from childhood these lines,owned by A. S. Pushkin.Miraculous monument to the poet erected himself. But only the grateful descendants perpetuated his memory in bronze and marble.
A. S. Pushkin - Russian poet, playwright and novelist, who laid the foundations of the Russian realist movement, critic and theorist of literature, historian, and publicist; one of the most respected literary figures of the first third of the XIX century.

Moscow... . Many events from the life of the great poet have been associated with this city. In Moscow Pushkin was born, was married, and the first monument to the poet in Russia and in the world, also appeared here.

Spectacular, but without unnecessary pomposity, now one of the symbols of the capital, it was opened on the birthday of the poet in 1880.
The idea of its creation appeared immediately after the tragic death of Pushkin, but the resolution has only been obtained in 1855.
The fundraiser was organized by graduates of the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, which appealed to the public through periodic publications.
In 1875 was held the open competition on the best project of the monument, which won the talented sculptor Alexander Mikhailovich Opekushin.
Solemn opening of the monument took place on 6 June 1880 in the Holy area, which eventually was renamed Pushkin.
In the opening ceremony of the monument was attended by the children of the poet: Alexander, Grigory, Maria and Natalia, as well as his friends and fans.
Before this stood the monument to Pushkin in the beginning of Tverskoy Boulevard and this place moved in 1950.

Pushkin visited Orenburg in order to investigate the history of the Pugachev uprising. In this brief journey, he met with Dahl, who lived in Orenburg as much as 8 years. The visit appeared Pushkin's story "captain's daughter" and "History of Pugacheva".

The monument "Pushkin and the peasant" in the city of Pskov
Was inaugurated on 3 June 1983 at the summer garden of a name of A. S. Pushkin in the city of Pskov during the XVII all-Union festival of poetry dedicated to this great poet

In honor of Alexander and his stay in Pyatigorsk named Pushkin baths - an architectural monument of the city of Pyatigorsk
These baths originally had another name, which they gave in honor of General Sabaneyev, and in 1924, when the country celebrated the 125th anniversary since the birth of A. S. Pushkin, baths were renamed Pushkin.
The design of the baths was entrusted to the famous architectural partnership of N. Dmitrieva and B. Prawdzik.

Monument to Pushkin Alexander Sergeevich in Zheleznovodsk
Sculpture of Alexander Pushkin, installed in honor of the centenary of the death of the great Russian writer. This is the first monument to the poet on the territory of the Caucasian Mineral Waters.
Located on the grounds of Pushkin square.
The monument "Pushkin by the sea" is an exact copy of the sculpture out of clay of people's artist of the USSR Merkurov's.
A copy was made of quartz sand, decorative cement and marble chips. The Sculptor Yu. F. Smirnov.
Installed in 1937. Author: sculptor S. D. Merkurov.

It is simply impossible to tell and show in one presentation about all the monuments, established in honor of Pushkin. The total number of monuments to Pushkin is not exactly calculated. They are the most different – from modest "standard" busts to the great works of famous sculptors, all well-known and virtually unknown... The sculpture, created by fans of the great master, can be seen in the African Outback and in the heart of Europe.Each of them has its own unique history... And all together they are – our culture, our tribute to the poet, our memory...
