When King Richard I came to the throne he first adopted his personal arms of two lions rampant on a red field, however by the end of his life he had adopted a shield with three lions passant, on a red field.

The Coat of Arms of Scotland
The Royal Coat of Arms of Scotland was the official coat of arms of the monarchs of Scotland, and was used as the official coat of arms of the Kingdom of Scotland until the Acts of Union of 1707.

The Coat of Arms of Wales
Before the English conquest, Wales was ruled by a number of Kings and Princes. All these Kings and Princes were ascribed personal coats of arms, often retrospectively if they lived before the dawn of heraldry, and these were borne by their descendants in Wales.

A gold harp with silver strings on a St. Patrick's blue background. The harp has long been Ireland's heraldic emblem. It appears on the coat of arms which were officially registered as the arms of the state of Ireland on 9 November 1945.
